Kimberly Harrison, B.A., CSAC
Kim is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. She is Program Coordinator and lead counselor at our Garner location. Kim began her substance use disorder work experience in 1999. She specializes in individual & group substance use disorder counseling, Intensive Outpatient Program and mixed general outpatient treatment groups. Kim also conducts substance use and DWI assessments.
Prior to joining the First Step team in 2013, Kim worked with the homeless with substance use disorders and incarcerated persons assigned to treatment, public and private sector. She has over 5 years experience specializing in women’s trauma in addiction. Kim has excellent communication skills, knowledge in various treatment modalities, excellent customer service skills and ability to remain focused in crisis.
Kim facilitates and provides a client-centered learning environment for those who participate in her counseling sessions. In addition to providing individual and group counseling sessions
Kim assists with the day to day operations of the Garner facility.
